Hi, I’m Lyle Benjamin, Founder of Planned Acts of Kindness. Hope you’re doing great!

With this being the start of the New Year, we are full of optimism and hope that the future will be brighter. But in order have this brighter future, we have to have a viable plan and act on that plan. Wishes and resolutions are great, but so are cotton candy clouds and unicorns.

So, in the spirit of (1) having a viable plan — It’s called Planned Acts of Kindness (PAK) — appropriately enough; and (2) acting on that plan — It’s the PAK achievements you do as a member of the Karma Club …

I am committing to:

  • Do a Daily Facebook Live video
  • Do a Weekly blog as The Karma Guy
  • Do a Bi-Weekly webcast called “The Karma Guy TV & Radio Hour”

To get your New Year off on the right foot I’m going to share …

22 Popular New Years’ Resolutions That You’ll Never Keep & One Resolution You Absolutely Positivity Must Do That Trumps Them All …

For the past 4,000 years, we have been making New Year’s resolutions. And for the past 4,000 years, we have been breaking them. Lose weight, eat healthier, exercise more. Get out of debt. Save more money. Spend less money. Smoke less. Drink less alcohol. Drink more water. Learn a new skill. Learn to cook. We’ve made them. We’ve broken them. Over and over again. Year after year.

Maybe in ancient times, people had more incentive to keep their resolutions. Resolutions were made as promises to the Babylonian gods to do better with the hope that the gods would help them kick off the New Year on a high note. Back then in BG times (Before Google) it was harder to sync calendars, so the New Year was the first new moon in late March after the Spring Equinox.

Later Caesar being Caesar declared January 1st the first day of the year in order to honor Janus the god of new beginnings. And Romans being Romans celebrated Janus and the New Year by offering human sacrifices to the god. So understandably there were a lot of resolutions centered around kissing Janus’ cheeks during those times.

Time moves on, and in addition to the old standbys, we’ve added a few more resolutions into the mix: Get more educated. Learn a new language. Start being more social. Start being more creative. Start a business. Read more. Travel more. Do more. Procrastinate less. And of course, the ever-popular Facebook mantra: Spend less time on social media.

But the sad truth is that over time most of us will fail to keep our resolutions. We will not be resolute. We will drop like leaves from trees in Autumn. And it won’t take ten months to boot.

But there is one Resolution that you can do now that can be a game changer. This Resolution is so big, so important, and so impactful it dwarves all the others.

“What is it?” You ask.

Fine, I’ll tell you. But only if you promise to tell other people.

“Ok. I promise to not to tell other people.”

No, you must promise to tell other people.

“You are so negative. And pushy. Okay. I promise to tell other people.”

Great! Now all you have to do is go to the website “Planned Acts Of Kindness” and make the following Resolution:

“I hereby make a PAK to treat others with respect and kindness and to go through life from this day forward acting towards others as I would wish to be treated myself.”

Can you do that?

“I can do that.”

Good.

“And this is more important than all those other resolutions…?”

Yep.

“You gonna tell me why this thing is sooo much more important than my resolution to eat more organically farmed chicken?”

“You’ll find out when you visit the website”

“Hmmmm. PlannedActsofKindness.org?”

Yep.

“And once I take the pledge, all I got to do is share?”

Yep.

“And the website will show me how?”

Yep.

“Ok. I’m taking your word for it. If it don’t work, I’m going to come lookin’ for ya.”

Not a problem. After all, what goes around, comes around….

In the meantime, don’t Forget To Be Kind & Share.

I’m the Karma Guy, Lyle Benjamin. Catch up to you … sooner or later.
